Welsh indoor finals

The curtain has fallen on the indoor bowls season in Wales with national competitions keenly contested at both the WIBA and WLIBA finals weekends.

A week after winning the blue riband champion of champions, Newport IBC’s Kerry Packwood added the coveted singles trophy to her CV, plus the triples with twin sister Kelly and friend Marie Clare McCulloch.

Rhian Ashton, of Earlswood IBC, also had double success winning the pairs with Hannah Williams and fours for the third year running with Jodie McCarthy, Jealian Willis and Hanna Thomas.

Lowri Powell, of Taff Ely IBC, meanwhile, retained her Under 25 crown.

For the men, Chris Klefenz and Stephen Harris, of Blaenau Gwent IBC, clinched the pairs, Mark Harding, Damian Doubler and Daniel Salmon, the triples, and Heatherton IBC’s Charles Davies, Simon Hilling, Michael Jackson and John Roberts, the fours.
