BE mixed fours won by Gloucestershire

Gloucestershireโ€™s Joan Surman, Penny Callaghan, Lee Williamson and Nathan Kitchen have won the National Mixed Fours Competition, sponsored by Bowling Abroad.

They defeated Lincolnshireโ€™s Ruby Hill, Chelsea Tomlin, Ashley Caress and Martin Spencer in the final at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

The Cheltenham BC bowlers raced into a 12-1 lead and never looked back, as they secured a 23-15 victory.

Earlier in the day, the Gloucestershire quartet defeated Sussexโ€™s Rachel Mackriell, Lorraine Kuhler, Paul Gandey and Carl Blinco 25-8 in the semi-final, with the Lincolnshire rink overcoming Hampshireโ€™s Julie Hudson, Hazel Gabriel, Alan Geary and Chris Daniels 25-11 at the same stage.
