COMPETITORS CONFIRMED: WORLD BOWLS OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023

The 14th edition of the World Outdoor Bowls Championships will be held on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia from the 29th August – 10th September 2023. It has been a seven year wait since the last championships at Christchurch, New Zealand in 2016. The 2020 championships was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which was scheduled to commence on May 26th 2020, it suffered two date changes and then was cancelled due to travel restrictions and health concerns. The Championships will now be held every two years. The Championships will also play host to the VI Mixed Pairs and Para Pairs events for the first time.

Nations have been busy announcing their teams and we almost have them all confirmed with less than 85 days to go until the championships begin.

Over 35 associations are due to compete at 2023 Championships, although many will only have representatives in some playing disciplines. Some players such as Jamie Walker (England, Men’s Triples Gold 2016), Aaron Wilson (Australia, Men’s Pairs Gold 2016) and Kelsey Cottrell (Australia, Women’s Fours Gold 2016) will be looking to retain their titles at the 2023 World Bowls Championships.
