England to host enhanced World Championships next year

With the International Indoor Bowls Council being incorporated into World Bowls it has been agreed that there will be a new International Indoor Bowls event.

The previous Indoor Championships and World Cup (historically held in Warilla, Australia) will cease to exist and replaced with a World Bowls Indoor Championships featuring Menโ€™s and Womenโ€™s Singles and Mixed Pairs.

The new tournament will be held annually but the host venue will alternate between the Northern Hemisphere and Warilla Bowls & Recreation Club in New South Wales, Australia.

The English Indoor Bowling Association are honoured to have been asked to host the inaugural World Bowls Indoor Championships from 20thto 24thApril 2020 and pleased to announce that the venue will be the City & County of Bristol Indoor Bowls Club.

Both the EIBA and Bristol IBC have begun early preparations for the event and look forward to welcoming players, officials and spectators from Countries across the World and making the new tournament a great success.
