Gerrard Cross win men’s club two fours

Buckinghamshire’s Gerrards Cross BC have won the Bowls England Men’s Club Two Fours competition, sponsored by Dales Sports.

They defeated Buntingford BC from Hertfordshire 44-20 in the final at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

The Gerrards Cross team featured four players that were part of the club’s previous success in the competition in 1999 – Kirk Smith, Alan Price, Richard Reid and Men’s Senior International Captain John McGuinness.

In the semi-final, Gerrards Cross recovered from a deficit of around 20 shots to defeat Weybridge BC, Surrey, whilst Buntingford defeated Workington BC from Cumbria.
