HOT SHOTS CLUB | August 2022

We’ve one of our best-ever months of bumper applications with some great photos of bowlers with their certificates and cracking stories of how maximum shot counts were achieved.

Drum roll please… congratulations to Nathan Nimmo, of Bletchley Town BC, who has achieved a gold badge for scoring three hot shots this year!

Anne Tobin, Bridgie Frazer, Brid Brien and Nuala Shortt scored an eight on the eighth end of their match at Shankill Bowling Club, while with Ann Wainwright, Anne, Bridgie and Brid chalked up another full-house on June 8, but this time it was the fifth end.

Dave Davies, assistant match secretary for the Royal County of Berkshire Bowling Association, says he achieved a hot shot with Malcolm Woodley, Rob Taylor and county president Peter Hitt in a match against Middlesex.

He added: “I do not think that any other president has achieved that goal, certainly not when I was president myself back in 2013.”

Newark IBC members Mal Langley, Edward McGillian and Steve Mayes meanwhile had a nine in their match on the ninth end, but ended up losing the game by two!

The Bowls International Hot Shots Club is famous throughout the bowls playing world.

It was launched more than 20 years ago to reward players achieving a maximum score on one end of a competitive match and remains as popular as ever.

Certificates recognising the feat and signed by 15 times world champion Tony Allcock OBE take pride of place in the clubs and homes of bowlers all over the globe.

Different coloured bowls stickers are also available to highlight the achievement of becoming a member of the world’s largest and most exclusive bowls club.

Apart from having your names recognised in print and featured on our website, why not send in a picture as well of the successful pair, triple or four, along with some interesting and relevant details about your claim.

You can provide a few details on the entry form that is featured in this supplement and email your photos to hotshots@bowlsinternational.com

Happy bowling and good luck!
