HOT SHOTS CLUB | September 2022

Drum roll pleaseโ€ฆ we have a gold badge winner! The honour this month goes to Nathan Nimmo, of Bletchley Town BC, who has achieved three hot shots this year!

Nathan, aged 24, has been bowling for approximately 14 years. His nan Barbara Haynes mainly taught him and is his inspiration. Nathan bowls for Bucks Under 25s and was a member of their winning White Rose team. His success comes as we celebrate another bumper month of applications with some great photos of bowlers with their certificates and cracking stories of how maximum shot counts were achieved.

Eamonn Harrington, of Greystones BC, achieved his hot shot with Hannah McInerny and has only been bowling for three months!

Margaret and Trevor Templeman, of Woburn Sands BC, are also new bowlers gaining a hot shot. They are in their second season of bowling, while Karen Williets has been bowling for 12 years and had her first hot shot with Jean Palumbo at Fordingbridge BC. Jean has also only been bowling for two seasons.

Sisters Hattie and Erin Burke won their hot shot in the final of the Gloucestershire Womenโ€™s Bowling Association Under 25 pairs final. Hattie is 12, while Erin is 13 and they have only started bowling since the COVID-19 pandemic.

George Daniels meanwhile tells us that Ropner Park Veterans BC members Brian Rocke, Ken Brown and Keith Guy scored a maximum nine shots in their triples match when skip Keith picked up the jack and took it in the ditch enabling them to pick up a full house as all their woods were behind the original jack setting.

The Bowls International Hot Shots Club is famous throughout the bowls playing world.

It was launched more than 20 years ago to reward players achieving a maximum score on one end of a competitive match and remains as popular as ever.

Certificates recognising the feat and signed by 15 times world champion Tony Allcock OBE take pride of place in the clubs and homes of bowlers all over the globe.

Different coloured bowls stickers are also available to highlight the achievement of becoming a member of the worldโ€™s largest and most exclusive bowls club.

Apart from having your names recognised in print and featured on our website, why not send in a picture as well of the successful pair, triple or four, along with some interesting and relevant details about your claim.

You can provide a few details on the entry form that is featured in this supplement and email your photos to hotshots@bowlsinternational.com

Happy bowling and good luck!
