Second senior title for Mackriell

Sussex’s Rachel Mackriell has secured the Women’s National Senior Singles, sponsored by Bowling Abroad Holidays, just five days after claiming the Women’s Senior Pairs title.

The Polegrove BC bowler defeated Nottinghamshire’s Janet Eames 21-17 at a rain-drenched Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

Mackriell skipped Lorraine Hume to success in the Senior Pairs on Tuesday.

Mackriell had reached the final with convincing victories over Norfolk’s Jackie Devitt and Somerset’s Kate Herbison, whilst Eames defeated Bridget Hodder (Dorset) and Warwickshire’s Gill Maund.
