Welsh women selected for World Bowls

Five members of the Welsh Women’s Bowling Association had an early Christmas present – news they had been selected for World Bowls in May.

Laura Daniels (Brynhyfryd), Anwen Butten (Lampeter), Caroline Taylor (Berriew), Sara Nicholls (Llandelio) and Ysie White (Tenby) will be taking to the Broadbeach BC greens from May 23 – June 7, hoping to top their previous success in 2016 of a gold in the pairs and silver in the triples.

WWBA secretary and team manager Hazel Wilson commented: “I am delighted with our team and am sure the mix of experience and new talent will be a great combination. The players have proven their strengths and team spirit both on and off the green and we are looking forward to a great World Bowls tournament.”
