Youngest ever life member?
A very special member of St. Andrews BC in Weston-super-Mare was presented with life membership this month in recognition of her support for the club and for the continuous success she has achieved in her young life.
Her name is Rebecca McMillan, the 2023 EIBA ladies’ singles champion.
Everyone who knows Becky will know how successful she has been at the top level over a number of years. They may even be aware of how unaffected she is by success. She always shows a cool, calm persona whether she’s on the green or carpet, or helping out by pouring a pint at the bar or arranging events at the club.
“We at St. Andrews are blessed to have such a role model, especially as she is always the first one to step forward and help our club, in any way,” said Tony Lay, vice-chairman of St. Andrews BC Association Committee.
“She richly deserves the life membership and is a constant joy to have around the club.
“After her life membership was presented, we wondered whether there were any other younger life members around the country. Becky is still just 28, really young for a life member, but the award is so richly deserved.”
