Truran Retains Singles Title!

Sussex’s Aimee Truran has managed an amazing feat by retaining the English women’s national singles trophy.

Truran beat Worcestershire’s Sue Davies 21-14 to clinch the title.

Meanwhile, Emma Cooper and Lorraine Kuhler have also managed to retain the junior pairs after beating Leicestershire’s Marie de Bie Brown and Katie Smith in the final.

Sussexโ€™s Amy Truran has retained the Bowls England Womenโ€™s National Four-Wood Singles Championship, sponsored by Bonmarche.

Truran, from Homefield Park BC, defeated Sue Davies from Broadway BC, Worcestershire, in the final at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

Earlier in the semi-finals Davies and Truran prevented an all-Hampshire final with victories over Margaret Holden and Liz Russell respectively.

Sussex win Junior Pairs

Sussexโ€™s Emma Cooper and Lorraine Kuhler have won the Bowls England National Junior Pairs Championship for the second successive year.

The Battle BC/Homefield Park BC duo retain the title after beating Leicestershireโ€™s Marie De Bie and Katie Smith in the final held today at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

Earlier Cooper and Kuhler clinched their place in the final thanks to an extra end victory against Somersetโ€™s Laura Holden and Stef Branfield, whilst De Bie and Smith won through against Surreyโ€™s Kelly McCarthy and Rachel Winter.

The Championship is supported by Marion Bushnell.
