Norfolk club closes

The Norfolk Women’s Bowling Association has said farewell to one of its oldest clubs.

The Avenues Women’s Bowling Club in Norwich, which once boasted sixty playing members, has had to close after 77 years due to dwindling numbers.

It was one of the first clubs to affiliate to the Norfolk County in 1954 and was unique in that it has been the only women’s bowling club in the county.
