South Africa Name Blind Team

South African hopes of retaining their world championship title, lost to Australia in 2009, are high for the 10-nation International Blind Bowls Association Championships at Beach House Park, Worthing, England from July 6-20.

The SA team, comprising eight players across four sight categories, plus their directors and manager Cathy Donaldson, president of the SA association, also outgoing president of the world body left Wednesday for England.

The team is, player first, then director:

B2 Gwen Nel/Geoff Newcombe (EP); Stephen Coleman (WP)/Johan du Toit (Mpumalanga)

B4 Princess Schroeder/ Graham Ward (WP); Eben Fourie/Hannetjie Smit (Mpumalanga)
