Today’s WBT Update…

Jason Greenslade is still in the running and hoping to go one step further this year after losing to Andy Thomson in the final of the world singles last year.

The Welshman had a tough first round match against Wildcard Billy Jackson, and the Lincolnshire man won the first set, 9-4.

The second set was all Greenslade, however, and he notched up a 10-1 second set win.

Keeping up the momentum, Greenslade won both ends of the tie-break to go through.

Popular Aussie and Bowls International contributor Kelvin Kerkow got a standing ovation from the Potters crowd but was unable to beat Scotland’s David Gourlay.

Gourlay won both sets, 9-5, 9-6 to progress.

Currently, Mark Royal is easing through to the second round. The Suffolk star is currentl facing South Africa’s Tracy Meyerdericks. Royal won the dirst set 14-4, and is currently 9-0 up in the second. All over bar the shouting.
