Humanitarian Crisis in Kenya- you can help!

Bowls fanatic Paul Hammond, author of ‘The New Season’ and ‘Going Indoors’ is giving up bowls for the season and going to Kenya to help with the humanitarian crisis gripping Kenya. The proceeds from these books go towards the charity, and Paul is passionate about helping the neglected and starving people living from day-to-day in Kenya.

This is taken from Paul:

‘Because of the crisis out there in Africa at the moment I have chosen to give up my bowling season and personally organise this appeal.

It is imposssible not to be moved by the true facts of the tragedy that is unveiling, and it is, in this day and age, hard to imagine a world where thousands of children are dying through lack of water, food and support.

I have already established Ndege Wa Pori as a registered charitable foundation which has been officially recognised by Kenya.

We have been raising money by selling personal possessions (CDs, DVDs, TV, etc), donations from customers and sponsorship from Wild About Birds.

Also every penny raised from book sales (THE NEW SEASON and GOING INDOORS) is being donated to the campaign.

The appeal is already going well and we have collected 8 tonnes of aid to date.

We have a number of local schools involved and our website (www.ndegewapori.com) has a regularly updated news page as well as downloadable copies of the press release.

There is also a secure on-line donation button if people wish to make a contribution direct to the campaign.

100% of all we raise goes directly into the appeal, all work we undertake is voluntary.’
