England triumphant in Atlantic Championships

England men and women both claim the overall winners’ title at the Atlantic Championships, played at Athena Beach in Cyprus.

The second half of the tournament proved a great success for England, as England won the men’s singles and women’s fours, whilst Natalie Melmore lost in the final of the women’s singles.

Scotland won the men’s fours, defeating Ireland in the final, 20-17.

Ireland won the women’s singles, with Ireland’s Catherine McMillen defeating Natalie Melmore 21-16.

England women’s four consisted of Julie Saunders, Sian Gordon, Ellen Falkner and Amy Gowshall, whilst the winning competitor in the men’s singles was Jamie Chestney.
