First Five Lakes winners of 2024

Another great, competitive team tournament held at the Five Lakes Resort this week, a week during which the World Indoors Bowls Championship (WIBC) was being played out at Potters other resort at Hopton-on-Sea (writes bowls manager Gary Mackay). Sadly, I couldn’t be at Five Lakes this week due to duties at the WIBC and then coming down with the  dreaded COVID-19. Nevertheless, all the reports suggest that the games were very competitive and tightly fought out, even right up to the final itself. But ultimately, someone has to come through, and the team this week was made up of Sheila Collins, Colin Talbot, Malcolm Williams and Janet Williams (pictured). And, by all accounts, a final that definitely did not disappoint either, both teams fought hard and took the match right up to the last end, which was greatly appreciated by everyone who came to cheer them on.  But in the end it was a 9-5 victory to Sheila, Colin, Malcolm and Janet. A huge thank you to all the many supporters who came along this week and to all the teams for a fun, spirited and enjoyable tournament.
