Four titles won on Saturday at Leamington

Lancashire won the Balcomb Trophy, supported by the Friends of English Bowling, at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.
They defeated Cambridgeshire in a thrilling final this afternoon – Lancashire skip Chris Gale delivering the winning shot with the final bowl of the game.
Lancashire reached the final with a convincing victory against Sussex, whilst Cambridgeshire beat Worcestershire on an extra end.

Suffolk’s Gordon Williams won the Bowls England Men’s National Senior Singles Competition, supported by the Friends of English Bowling.
Williams defeated Lancashire’s Alec Atkinson in the final at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa to claim the title.
Williams had earlier defeated Grant Burgess (Worcestershire) and David Magness (Herefordshire) to reach the final.

Isle of Wight’s Denise Butchers and Martin Butchers have won the Bowls England National Mixed Pairs competition, supported by the Friends of English Bowling.
They defeated Suffolk’s Sally Butcher and Martin Heitzmann 26-20 in the final.
The Butchers’ trailed 10-5 after eight ends of the final, then scored 12 shots on the next four ends to take a 17-10 lead that they retained to the finish.
Heitzmann was substituting in the final for Mark Royal, who played in the earlier rounds but was unable to participate in the final due to work commitments.

Lancashire defeat Devon to claim the 2018 Men’s National Triples Championship crown, sponsored by Countrywide Tax & Trust Corporation Ltd.
Lancashire’s David Lockhart, Ian Mayne and Chris Gale from Heaton Hall BC defeated 2017 finalists Louis Ridout, Jamie Chestney and Sam Tolchard from Kings BC, Devon.
