England do the Double!

England has been victorious in the men’s and women’s BIIBC junior international series.

In the final and all-deciding match, the women managed to get past a determined Scottish team, coming back from a five shot deficit to win the series by four shots, with Lorraine Kuhler playing an intricate trail shot on the last end to help see England to victory, with Amy Stanton’s excellent rink the highest winners, 21-10.

The damage was done on day one of the men’s series, with England crushing the Irish by 52 shots and consolidating this with a win over Scotland, winning by 20 shots, with Jamie Walker’s rink being the biggest winners, 23-10.

A win against Wales was not a necessity for England to win the series because of shot difference, but they managed to get over the line by one shot, 71-70, to make winning the series sweeter, with Sam Tolchard’s rink being the highest winners at 20-12.
