HOT SHOTS CLUB: October issue winners

Drum roll please… we have a number of gold badge winners to announce.
They are Tony Tinkler, Glenyce Toole and Paul Younghusband, of South Park BC, Darlington, Debra Rose, of Rayleigh BC, Essex, Ray Kuschel, of Manor House BC, Kent, and Cedric Fletcher, of Begbrook Green BC, who won one hot shot in a Bristol and District league match, another in the Gloucestershire mixed pairs with Ann Marten and the third in the annual club men versus ladies
match when he was recruited for the ladies team!
Elsewhere, Salli Ingram-Johnson, Tina Dix and Lyn Elder, of Bournemouth BC, had hot shots in round one and two of a benevolent triples competition, while M Nunn, P Steggalls and P Ham celebrated a double hot shot at Margaret Catchpole BC, Ipswich, and Shaun Hill, John Lewis and Craig Lewis, of Stansted BC, had two maximum scores playing at home too.
Bob Hallam, of Totland Bay BC, has had hot shots in successive weeks, a similar feat achieved by Steve Grout, of Thanet BC.
There have also been hot shots for new bowlers.
Vanessa Hart, of Middleton-St-George BC, had only taken the sport up three months prior to her hot shot scored in only her second league game.
Brian Gell who has only been bowling for five months won a hot shot at Kearsney BC with Chris Merry and John Broom, while Louise Rees, of Ammanford Ladies, is also in her first year of bowling and scored a full house with Ann Thomas and Diane Rusbridge.
Meanwhile, Anthony Boddrell, of Hurst BC, who has been playing competitively for 31 years claimed his first hot shot!
The Bowls International Hot Shots Club is famous throughout the bowls playing world.
It was launched more than 20 years ago to reward players achieving a maximum score on one end of a competitive match and remains as popular as ever.
Certificates recognising the feat and signed by 15 times world champion Tony Allcock OBE take pride of place in the clubs and homes of bowlers all over the globe.
Different coloured bowls stickers are also available to highlight the achievement of becoming a member of the world’s largest and most exclusive bowls club.
