Tony Allcock MBE to deliver coaching masterclass during National Championships

Coach Bowls has announced that 15-times World Champion Tony Allcock MBE will be delivering a free Coaching Masterclass on Sunday 19th August during the Bowls England National Championships in Royal Leamington Spa.

The fun and interactive session, titled โ€˜So You Think You Can Skip?โ€™, will be delivered from 1-2pm on โ€˜Aโ€™ Green with the use of the Victoria Park PA system to ensure all spectators can enjoy. The event is open to both players and spectators to attend.

This will be followed by a coaching clinic from 4-6pm for players nominated by their respective County Associations, which will be hosted by John Rednall, one of Englandโ€™s top international leads.

Tony Allcock MBE said: โ€œThe provision of quality coaching is vital to the long-term future of our sport at all levels. Bowls England is delighted to be working with Coach Bowls to provide opportunities for players and spectators to benefit from various coaching opportunities throughout the National Championships. It is our intention that coaching clinics at a local or regional level will be made available to County Associations from 2019 as part of our commitment to this key service.โ€

There will be two further coaching clinics on Tuesday 21st August and Tuesday 28th August as detailed below:

Tuesday 21st August from 4-6pm
โ€˜Team Dynamicsโ€™ with Ellen Falkner (Cambridgeshire and England)

Tuesday 28th August from 3.30-5.30pm
โ€˜Winning Tactics โ€“ Back End Bowlsโ€™ with Andy Thomson MBE (Kent and England)

Invitations have been issued directly to all County Associations to give them the opportunity to nominate one person of each gender to attend each of the coaching clinics.
