Wiltshire’s extra end national men’s fours win

Wiltshire’s Kyle Anderson, Mike Snell, Dave Godwin and Steve Snell, from Royal Wootton Bassett BC, have won the Men’s National Fours Championship, sponsored by St James’s Place Wealth Management.

They defeated Lancashire’s Jason Parkinson, David Lockhart, Ian Mayne and Chris Gale from Heaton Hall BC in this afternoon’s final on an extra-end.

In the semi-final, the Royal Wootton Bassett quartet defeated Dave Love, Darren Lyman, Curtis Johnson and Neil Corbyn from Wellingborough BC, Northamptonshire – Lyman and Corbyn being part of the successful 2012 rink.

In the other semi-final, the Lancashire four defeated the 2014 champions Phil Dixon, Neal Ridley, Ian Riches and David Bolt from Silksworth BC, Durham.

Brothers Mike and Steve Snell will now join their father Dave in representing England at the British Isles Bowls Council Championships next year, after Dave won the Men’s Senior Fours title earlier in the Championships.

Royal Wootton Bassett, Wilts (S Snell) bt Heaton Hall, Lancs (C Gale) 17-15
