Clash of the Codes – Flat vs Crown Green Challenge

Bowlers from Heaton Hall BC (flat green) and Lloyd Hotel BC (crown green) in Manchester will face off against each other in a โ€˜Clash of the Codesโ€™ challenge match.

Taking place on Saturday 28 May, the Ryder Cup style contest will be played on the three greens at Heaton Hall (Prestwich, M25 2SW), which boast both flat green and crown green facilities.

Each member of the 12-strong teams will play four sessions across the day consisting of:

  • Flat green singles (four bowls each, 2 x 7-end sets)
  • Crown green singles (two bowls each, 2 x 11-end sets)
  • Flat green pairs (three bowls each, 2 x 7-end sets)
  • Crown green pairs (two bowls each, 2 x 11-end sets)

With 36 matches being played, the first side to secure 18.5 points will be crowned the champions.

All money raised throughout the day will be donated to Francis House Childrenโ€™s Hospice.

The event is free to attend, with food and drink available all day.
