Scotland 3, England 0

Five times winner Alex ‘Tattie’ Marshall managed to stave off yet another great qualifier performance from England’s Scott Edwards. Winning the first set by the slenderest of margins, 9-8, and, set down with his last bowl, managing to get shot and win the second set, 8-6, has meant Tattie will feace either fellow countryman David Gourlay or Bowls International’s very own Kelvin Kerkow in the next round.

This continues Scotland’s excellent representation in the competition today, with Colin Walker and Steven Allen also safely through after defeating Greg Harlow and Simon Skelton respectively.

Paul Foster is due to play Wales’ Stephen Harris at 7.30 this evening.
