World Bowls Tourโ€™s UK Open reaches semi-final stage

Paul Foster MBE, David Gourlay MBE, Jamie Chestney and Mark Dawes will contest the semi-finals of the UK Open after each enjoying two victories at Stanley IBC, County Durham today (Friday 1 April).

Both Foster and Gourlay had to endure tie-breaks in both of their second round and quarter-final contests. Foster defeated Jason Greenslade and Greg Harlow, with Gourley overcoming the challenge of recently crown world indoor singles champion Les Gillett and Stewart Anderson.

Chestney defeated both Mervyn King and Colin Banks in straight sets, while Dawes beat the Scottish duo of Michael Stepney and Darren Burnett in his two matches.

The UK Open will be played to a conclusion on Saturday (2 April).

Mark Dawes will face Paul Foster MBE in the first semi-final at 10am, before Jamie Chestney takes on David Gourlay MBE in the second semi-final at 12noon. The final is scheduled to take place at 3.30pm.

Both semi-finals and the final will be streamed live on theย WBT Facebook pageย andย YouTube channel.
