HOT SHOTS CLUB: November winners

The Bowls International Hot Shots Club is famous throughout the bowls
playing world.
It was launched more than 20 years ago to reward players achieving a maximum score on one end of a competitive match and remains as popular as ever.
Certificates recognising the feat and signed by 15 times world champion Tony Allcock OBE take pride of place in the clubs and homes of bowlers all over the globe.
Different coloured bowls stickers are also available to highlight the achievement of becoming a member of the worldโ€™s largest and most exclusive bowls club.
Apart from having your names recognised in print and featured on our website www.bowlsinternational.com, why not send in a picture as well of the successful pair, triple or four, along with some interesting and relevant details about your claim.
You can provide a few details on the entry form that is featured in this supplement and email your photos to hotshots@bowlsinternational.com
Among this monthโ€™s winners are gold badge winner Peter Hopkins, of Skegness IBC.
Banbury Borough Ladies BCโ€™s Margaret Morris, Linda Sharman, Annie Gilkes and Maureen Osborne scored their hot shot playing in the senior fours at the Bowls England Aviva National Finals against a team from Yorkshire.
Sue Rhodes and Wendy Chandler picked up a hot shot at their club Pewsey Vale BCโ€™s finals weekend. Itโ€™s Pewsey Vale BCโ€™s centenary year too!
Father and son Derrick and Phil Lott, of Yateley BC, Hants, won a hot shot with Richard Chalmers and Les May playing for Aldershot and District Bowling Association at Mychett BC against West Surrey BA.
There was a second eight this season for Buckhurst Hill BCโ€™s Tony Patient and Julie Watkins and another for Jim Dearden, Adrian Evans and Michael Stoddart, of Lanchester BC in Durham who picked up their nine shots against the same team on the same rink, but in different leagues.
One of the youngest winners is 12-year-old Elliot Brown who had a full house with David Main at their club Hurst BC โ€“ believed to be the second oldest bowling club in the country which dates back to 1747. The club still plays at its original green.
Eighty-seven-year-old Brian Smith, of Hemel Hempstead BC, Herts, claimed an eight with new bowler Tim Campbell, while other new bowlers to achieve glory include Chris Knight from Havering IBC, Paul Edwards, of Caerleon BC, Chepstow BCโ€™s Christine Kinney, David Lyon from Ewell Village BC, Newbridge BCโ€™s Emma Fenn, Pete Giles and Paul Smith, of Royal Wootton Bassett BC.
And an amusing story from Raymond Thomas, of Broughton Gifford BC, with his application.
He says: โ€œAs number three, I told my skip to cover the bowls behind the jack as all the opponents bowls were behind. As he went to bowl, my opposite number said to me did I realise you can get a hot shot. Of course, too late to change my instruction, but as it happened, my skip bowled his wood short for covering the back and came into the head making an eight. Their skipper still had a bowl left to play, but he sent it down only for it to go through the head brushing one of our bowls stopping outside
our bowls.โ€

Happy bowling and good luck!

They are seen receiving their prize-money from Caleb Thomas, of WeSport
